Arenberg

Arenberg is a cultural venue in Antwerp whose theatre has been a fixture in Belgium's live music scene for many years. But today, Arenberg is much more than a single venue. The organization also operates OLT Rivierenhof and MAD Festival, each with its own audience and its own website.Since 2019, Inventis has been helping shape that digital ecosystem.

One umbrella organization,
three distinct brands

Arenberg doesn't just manage its own theatre programme. The organization is also responsible for OLT Rivierenhof and MAD Festival, each with its own calendar, ticketing system, and target audience.

Last year, Arenberg formalized this structure with a new vision. It now positions itself as the umbrella organization behind all three brands.

That's an ambitious undertaking: three event calendars, three brands, and one organization that wants to maintain a clear overview, and make that overview visible to its visitors.

Three separate websites

Before this new vision could become reality, the digital experience needed to evolve.

Until then, Arenberg, OLT Rivierenhof, and MAD Festival each operated on their own independent website, with separate event calendars and separate data sources. Arenberg's role as the organization behind all three brands was nowhere to be found online.

One CMS, one architecture, three brands

Inventis rebuilt all three websites on Architect CMS.

During the initial development, the websites were integrated with SRO for ticket sales. Since then, Arenberg, OLT Rivierenhof, and MAD Festival have all migrated to Ticketmatic, and Inventis supported that transition by developing a new integration.

The biggest transformation took place on the Arenberg website itself. It now showcases not only performances in the theatre, but also every event from OLT Rivierenhof and MAD Festival.

All event information is automatically synchronized from Salesforce, while ticket sales are handled through Ticketmatic. As a result, the event calendar always stays up to date without requiring manual updates from the Arenberg team.

An intuitive filtering system (including filters by genre) helps visitors quickly navigate the combined programme across all three brands.

Communication with visitors is now fully integrated into the platform. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through Salesforce. For all other email communication, Inventis integrated SendGrid.

SendGrid handles both transactional emails, such as contact form confirmations, and automated service emails related to upcoming events. These messages are generated using event information from Salesforce and ticket purchaser data from Ticketmatic.

Previously, staff at Arenberg had to manually prepare and send these service emails separately for each of the three brands. That work has now been fully automated.

Digital screens that update automatically

The same philosophy extends into the physical venues.

The digital screens at both Arenberg and OLT Rivierenhof no longer display manually managed content. Instead, they retrieve their information directly from the website.

When an event changes, is cancelled, or is added to the programme, the screens update automatically. Staff no longer need to manage digital signage separately.

If the information is correct online, it's also correct at the ticket desk and throughout the venue.

Since the partnership began in 2019, Inventis has continuously evolved Arenberg's digital platform, upgrading the CMS and delivering multiple redesigns as the organization itself continued to grow and change.

Arenberg, on its own terms

Arenberg no longer has to perform the same work three times to present its complete programme, and the manual workload involved in sending service emails has disappeared.

The umbrella organization Arenberg set out to become is now immediately visible to every visitor who lands on the website.
