The client's world
Behind every festival is an operation that most visitors never see.
- Tickets selling out within minutes.
- Accreditations for hundreds of journalists and thousands of VIP guests.
- Volunteers using POS systems to sell drink tokens.
- Visitors collecting waste in exchange for food and drink vouchers.
- Parking lots and campsites being checked and managed upon arrival.
All of it digital. In real time. With zero room for error.
What's at stake
A festival of this scale doesn't need a standard website. It needs a digital platform that grows with the organisation, that can handle peak loads without faltering, and that lets the team move fast. From the first artist announcement to the last day on the field.
Ticket sales are the most critical moment of the year. The instant tickets go live, tens of thousands of fans hit the website at once. Every second of delay, every glitch in the checkout process, costs trust that took years to build.
But even outside those peak minutes, Pukkelpop's digital operation never really stops. Managing line-ups, processing press accreditations, assigning campsites, keeping the Green ID system running. It's always on, in one way or another.

One platform, built for the complexity of festivals
Inventis uses Architect Festival CMS, a custom-built content management system designed specifically for the festival industry. Within the platform, Pukkelpop manages festival editions, stages, artists, line-ups, and schedules, while also planning announcements and publishing dynamic campaign pages without the need for developer support. Everything that needs to move from a communication perspective can be managed quickly, efficiently, and in one central place.
On-site ticket scanning
From parking areas and campsites to the festival entrances, Inventis manages ticket scanning throughout the entire festival site. We provide both the scanning hardware and on-site technical support, ensuring any issues are resolved immediately. Tens of thousands of visitors pass through these gates, so reliability and speed are essential. When the gates open, there is no room for technical failures or unnecessary queues.
Green ID
Sustainability is more than a marketing message for Pukkelpop, it's an operational priority. Through the Green ID system, festivalgoers can collect cups and other waste and exchange them for drink vouchers on both the campsite and the festival grounds. The system seamlessly handles peak traffic alongside the rest of the festival's digital infrastructure, ensuring a smooth and reliable experience even during the busiest moments.
Point-of-sale system
Pukkelpop runs its bars and food stalls with a large team of volunteers. Inventis developed a user-friendly point-of-sale application linked to payment terminals, so that even people without a technical background can process transactions smoothly.
Wishlist
Every year, ahead of the line-up announcement, fans can submit a wishlist of the artists they'd love to see at Pukkelpop through the festival website. These submissions are shared across social media, creating engagement while giving the festival team valuable insight into what their audience is excited about. It's a campaign that has become a yearly tradition, one that continues to generate buzz and strengthen the connection between Pukkelpop and its fans.

Appmiral integration
Artists and schedules managed in the CMS are automatically synchronized with the festival app through a standard integration with Appmiral. This eliminates duplicate data entry and ensures the website and app always display the same up-to-date information.

Online ticketing built for peak demand
Pukkelpop's ticketing platform processes tens of thousands of transactions every year, with the highest volume occurring within the first hours of ticket sales. Festival tickets, drink vouchers, and camping passes are all sold through a single platform, designed to handle extreme traffic without compromising performance. Built in collaboration with hosting partner Level27 and powered by caching technologies such as Varnish and Memcached, the infrastructure is engineered for the busiest moment of the year, not the average day.

Festival archive
As Pukkelpop prepares for its 39th edition in 2026, every part of its history is carefully preserved. Artists, stages, line-ups, and performances from every edition are stored in a searchable archive on the website, allowing fans to explore decades of festival history. The archive continues to grow year after year, keeping the legacy of Pukkelpop alive for both longtime visitors and new generations of festivalgoers.

Datafeed for VRT Livestream
Line-up and artist data are automatically delivered to the VRT livestream platform through a dedicated data feed. The information is used to enrich livestreams, interviews, and editorial coverage with accurate, up-to-date festival data. Because the integration is fully automated, the latest information is always available without any manual intervention.

Press & VIP accreditations
Every year, Pukkelpop welcomes hundreds of journalists and thousands of VIP guests. Inventis developed a dedicated accreditation system that manages and generates all access passes for these groups. At the reception desks, passes are scanned quickly and accurately, ensuring a smooth check-in process without delays or queues.
The result
Pukkelpop and Inventis have been working together since 2007. What started as a website project has evolved into a complete digital ecosystem that supports every stage of the festival, from the first artist announcement to the final day on the festival grounds.
This long-term partnership is built on trust, reliability, and continuous innovation. Year after year, we help ensure that every digital touchpoint performs when it matters most. Because when ticket sales go live, there's no room for uncertainty.
